Peru: Inca Trail - 26.7 miles and 4 days

Colombia's Lost City ~ 27 miles & 5 days
Voyage through the lush jungle across steams before reaching the ruins of Teyuna. Make this your primary stop and you will be alone in the Lost City.

Perfect time to go: December to March.

Nepal's Everest Base Camp - 38.5 miles in 13 days
This expedition will bring you closer to the inhabitants of the Himalayas before exposing a window to the top of the planet. Once you see Everest, you will not view the planet in the same way anymore.

Perfect time to go: August to November.

Tanzania's Mt Kilimanjaro - 21.1 miles | 8 days
Mt Kilimanjaro at 5,895m (19,340 ft.) is Africa's tallest point. It is challenging to say the least, but unlike other tall peaks, it provides those courageous enough to reach the summit. Ideal time to go: September to March.

Europe's Mont Blanc - 77.7 miles & 8 days

The Tour du Mont Blanc is 100 miles and travels through Switzerland, Italy, and France.

The ideal months to go are June to September.

Patagonia: Torres del Paine Circuit - 82.6 miles - 10 days -
Best-known for its spectacular scenery, you will discover breathtaking volcanic backdrops, enormous glaciers, and vast steppe-like plains leading to the horizon.

Ideal time to go: December to March

Venezuela's Mt Roirama - 21.1 miles in 6 days

The glorious mountain of Roraima is treasured to the region's local inhabitants and is said to have motivated Arthur Conan Doyle’s novel, "The Lost World." When to go: You can trek through Roraima at any time in the year, but November to April is the time.

The Camino de Santiago, Spain - 466 miles - 30 days
The popular Camino de Santiago, also recognized as the St. James Trail, was a relevant Christian retreat during the Middle Ages, and continues to be a prominent spiritual pilgrimage even today. The perfect time to travel: You can go in any month of the year but the optimal time is somewhere between the spring and autumn (which is high season).

Sometimes life calls for a weekend getaway to de-stress, see something new, and have a little fun. Although finding the best place for such a brief trip is not always simple. Below is a list of a few ideal spots for a weekend trip you will love.

New York City

New York City is a transportation hub, and depending on where you are arriving from, you could drive, fly, or arrive by train. It has so many interesting inside and outside things to do that temperature should not factor into your decision: Central Park and the High Line for lovers of the outdoors, and intriguing museums or entertaining Broadway shows if and when you prefer to be indoors. History aficionados can get to Ellis Island by ferry to see the first stop of many immigrants in days past or climb to the top of the famous Statue of Liberty.

San Francisco

Visitors love the weather conditions in San Francisco, which entices tourists and locals alike to enjoy outdoor activities such as riding the iconic cable cars, walking across the dramatic Golden Gate Bridge, and exploring the eclectic neighborhoods that each have their own colorful personalities. Baseball has never been as scenic as in San Francisco; go to a game at AT&T Park and check out the gorgeous views of the stunning San Francisco Bay.

Not only is America's capital chock full of cost-free points of interest, many of them are located on the National Mall, making it effortless to see the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other highlights in just a matter of days.

New Orleans

Nashville, NC

Part mountain village, part hipster place, this North Carolina locale is a haven for adventure-seekers and beer lovers. For gorgeous jaw-dropping views, check out the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest, or if you want to be more active, hike a segment of the iconic Appalachian Trail that passes through. More than a hundred delicious craft beers await you at regional breweries, so venture on over once you are ready to kick back and relax.

Chicago

With its unique and varied neighborhoods, fantastic food scene, historic architecture, and other fun activities, Chicago is a wonderful weekend getaway. Temperature-permitting, take a cruise through the city on the Chicago River to see the architectural masterpieces, then take a stroll to Millennium Park to see the renowned sculpture nicknamed “The Bean” for its iconic shape.

If you go in the cold winter months, you might choose to visit the amazing local museums like the Art Institute of Chicago or the Field Museum.

Seattle
